About Aftermath
Where talent meets passion for a brighter future
Our Mission
Aftermath is a science community for high school and university students across the world to connect, share, and publish research in STEM fields while working together to tackle everyday societal challenges.
It is a way to rejoice in and repay what nature has given us. As young scientists, we have a responsibility to protect nature and use knowledge to improve the communities around us.
Today, Aftermath brings that purpose together with open-access publishing, discovery, collaboration, conferences, resources, and practical innovation tools.
Our Founder
Craig Mhembere
Founder and Chairman
Aftermath was founded by Craig Mhembere, who was born and grew up in Glen Norah, Harare, Zimbabwe. He attended Murehwa High and later Mufakose 1 High for advanced level.
His inspiration for starting a society for a diverse culture in science came from attending the Zimbabwe Science Fair, a delegate of ISEF. He also participated in the Irene Science Expo, one of Zimbabwe's largest science fairs, where he took first place in the chemical and mechanical engineering category.
“I created this society so that my fellow friends across the world like me could get an opportunity to share a part of their innovation in science and tech. I want us as students to work together because solidarity is the best.”
Built by innovators, for innovators
Aftermath is maintained by Kufrashe Technologies as an inclusive platform where communities can discover, connect, publish, and scale ideas across disciplines, geographies, and perspectives.
Our focus is simple: reduce barriers to contribution, reward meaningful collaboration, and give creators the tools to move from idea to impact together.
